Speech & Language Therapy

Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) use various therapy techniques to help students improve their communication skills, including articulation, fluency, receptive and expressive language. At our facility, we take a play-based approach to learning language and communication skills, making sure our students enjoy every moment of their therapy sessions. We use books, pictures, toys, and other fun materials to engage students during their sessions.

Our students also participate in group therapy once a week, which helps improve their social skills, communication skills, and pragmatic language skills. Group therapy provides an opportunity for students to interact with their peers, practice their communication skills, and learn from one another. Sometimes, a peer’s modelling can be even more effective than an adult’s in helping students improve their communication skills.

Overall, our goal is to help students develop the skills they need to communicate effectively and confidently, both in and out of the classroom.
